Terms & Conditions

The terms and conditions below apply to all coaching provided by Sophie Herschtel Keldsen (SHK Coaching) for the client.

The client agrees to pay fees for the service on the terms and conditions set out below. The date of the first session (discovery session) is where the below terms and conditions start taking effect.

Definitions

The term “coaching” covers life coaching and career coaching for the client. Coaching is not psychological counselling or any type of therapy.

Coaching is partnering with the client in a thought-provoking and creative process starting from the current situation that will allow the client to evolve further to maximize the client’s future personal and professional life. It is not about telling the client what to do, but helping finding the client’s own answers. Coaching results are not guaranteed. The client being coached is responsible for his/her own progress and actions as a result of working together. The coach helps moving towards the agreed goal and tracking the agenda by asking questions and using exercises that enable the client to find his/her answers.

Sessions

A session lasts one hour.

The sessions can take place via Skype/Zoom/Microsoft Teams. The client is responsible for meeting up and calling at the agreed times. Every delay will mean a reduced session time. Cancellations are accepted up to 24 hours prior to the session, otherwise the session will be charged. Should the client decide to terminate the coaching earlier, the price will be based on the cost of an individual session times the amount of hours already provided to the client.

Between Sessions

There might be homework between the coaching sessions. There is however no obligation on the client to complete these requests or inquiries. Those are meant to help the client to progress towards the agreed goal.

The client may contact the coach by phone or e-mail between sessions to seek clarification regarding anything arising from a coaching session itself.

In order to track the progress, the client will have the possibility to send 2 days prior to the next coaching session a “coaching preparation form”. This will leave time for the coach to review before the next session.

Confidentiality

All information provided by the client will be treated as strictly confidential. It will not be disclosed to a third party without the client’s prior permission, unless against the law or where action might be necessary to prevent harm to the client.

Early termination

The client is entitled to terminate the coaching earlier by giving written notice by email. Such notice will take immediate effect as soon as the reception of this termination has been confirmed by the coach. In such a circumstance the client will be entitled to a full refund for any coaching sessions already paid for in advance, but not yet provided to the client.

In exceptional circumstances, such as illness or unavailability, inappropriate behaviour by the client, actual or potential conflict of interest, or other reasons, the coach can decide to terminate the coaching early. In such a circumstance the client will be refunded any advance payments made for coaching sessions not yet provided.
